Oil Creek west branch part II
Decided to give Oil Creek another try today..
Went to a spot in Centerville we call the Potato patch..
When I got there the stream was so muddy you could not safely wade as visibility was 1 foot...We have had no measurable rain in a couple weeks so it can't be run off..The creek really looked nasty..here's a pic..
Didn't see any reason for it to be so bad.....
So I left and headed over to a section of Oil Creek I haven't fished before.
Drove to the end of the road and walked in about a mile so I could fish upstream.
Picked up a couple bows, missed another nice Palomino and a whole load of creek chubs...
Sorry not many stream pictures as they got lost in the mad shuffle to try and get the camera set to video..
This is where the adventure gets real interesting and I really am half afraid to tell as I will be accused of eating the wrong shrooms or smoking the "PEACY" pipe a little too much..
As I finished my walk up out to the old dirt road, I look down the road toward where the truck is parked.
I am about 120 yards away and see what appears to be a large coyote sitting in the road in the clearing where the truck is.
It looks to be facing away from as it is hard to see with the sun..
I proceed to walk down the road and get 50 yrds closer with no movement from the critter..
Now (late as usual) I try to get my camera out and set it to vid and get some footage of it..
Well I got to pushing the wrong buttons and didn't get it to work fast enough..
As I was messing with the camera now only 75 yards from the critter it stands up sees me and turns to go into the woods..
It turns out this was not a yote at all but a juvenile Mountain Lion..
He swung his almost 3 foot tail around like a ****ed of cat will do and jumped into the brush...
There is no mistaking I was able to look right at the cat, it was a small cat maybe 50-60 pounds..
His tail was as long as his body..
Kinda freaked me out and still has me questioning myself, but it was in the open and I'm not blind..
I'm sure now I'll be known at that crazy cat Kook, and any street cred I might have had is gone but I saw what I saw and it weren't no Fischer..
