Mohawk River lock 7-8

Beautiful day to be out fishing. The morning started out pretty slow. Brought up a few smallies and a baby large. All on black and white soft swim baits. Changed over to a Yozuri deep diver in perch color and got ontop of a school of walleye. And stayed on top of them for a good half hour. Pulled up 7 or 8 of them. They were all around 15-16 inches. Then the wind picked up, and I rowed my****back to shore.

BTW, is it ok to eat fish out of there?

I think the official ruling by the DEC is no it is not safe. I eat a few small walleyes every year out of the Mohawk but I wouldn't eat any of the older bigger ones.  Kids under 15 and women of childbearing age should eat none. Make sure you remove the skin and all of the liver. Certain fish retain more mercury than others and PCB's are always a concern in the Mohawk.
