Snyders Blast and Tourney 2009

Hello Gents,
 
While it is still over two months away, I figured it was about time to start a post regarding the 2nd Annual Snyders Beer & Bass Blast (and half-assed tourney) for the 2009 Summer Season.

As usual, the weekend festivities will coincide with the Travers Stakes and that makes it easy to pinpoint the date for those who need some prior planning.  Yes- I am talking to YOU, Doug and Barry!
 
(By the way, we are splitting you two up this year in the hopes that at least ONE of you find a bass in the lake)
 
This years throw-down will be held on August 28-30 on scenic Snyders Lake near North Greenbush.  I think the details are a moot point, since we will surely once again make a plan deomcratically with suggestions or advice by all involved.
 
Last year's tourney was great fun and obviously led to a whole lot of new fishing buddies, some great hardwater outings, and a pair of still-yet-to-be-claimed underwear on Reel Force's truck antennea.  We're just going to let that mystery die on its own, I guess
 
Camping should again be adequate, and parking was pretty easy last year.  I encourage everyone to try to spend Saturday night at the lake for the usual bonfire and cold beverages.
 
I think we should also toss the winner off the dock this year, just to get our ten bucks worth.
 
We'll get the 'rules' dialed in when the date gets closer, but it does look like we'll have a "Mother Ship" in the center of the lake as a weigh station this year, making weigh-ins really quick and easy.  And yes, we can deliver beer to your boat again if you run low
 
Hoep you guys can all make it for this years shindig.  I have purposely laid off the panfish the past week or so in the hopes we can save some for Perch Inc.  The weekend wouldn't be the same without his signature fish fry!

It's never too early to start hoping for perfect weather like last years event!  So get to prayin' fellas!

I'll also try and make it this year, can't guarantee anything , but I am always down for drinking and bbq, oh yah and a little fishing.

Shoot!!! Looking at those pictures makes me almost quit my job to make it. I'm working midnights that weekend, and getting coverage is going to be nearly impossible. I'll either swing by for a few hours Saturday evening before work, or Sunday morning after work if I can't get coverage. 

You know I'm IN!!!!!! Jimmy how's the grill??? Try and clean "It" some time before the PARTY!~!!!  

I am in this year.....in honor of tonight's outlaws show we can hope for green grass and high tides that weekend.......

I will mark it on my calendar and try to make it this year.  Need to get aquainted with all on this website, as I only know a few (Yank, Hook, Reel Force, Eagle Crg).  Of course some of those already scare me, but I will team up with another Red Sox fan for the weekend if possible.

This could be twice at big as last year Jimmy  ... better warn the neighbors and make more room !!! woooo hoooo !! ..... hopefully somebody has ties to local law enforcement

Last year was sort of the 'trial' to see how it would all shake-out when 12 random strangers get together fgor a weekend of fishing (and stuff).  Obviously, I don't think we could have had any MORE fun than we did, so I bet we can make a little room for some new faces.  As long as we keep boat trailers to a minimum we should have plenty of room.  In a pinch, we could use the North Greenbush Park parking area across the lake or something.
 
Funny thing is, I had a neighbor ask me on Monday, "Why haven't you had any fishing parties lately?"
 
Cracked me up, I think some of the neighbors got a kick out of the ice-fishing shindig.  Rest assured, they will be well forewarned of the August party, and I assume more than a few of them might wander over around dinnertime like they did last year. 
 
They are all pretty uptight, but great neighbors.  They keep a far better eye on the place than I tend to- and I appreciate them for that.
 
If all it takes is a few Bluegill fillets to shut them up, than I am all for it.
 
I admit it is tough to shcedule something like this since it is so 'weather dependant', but last year we got really lucky and I know most of us have to plan out a weekend pretty far in advance.  I am calling this one "Rain or Shine", but I know that I have a whole lot more fun when I get those big****speakers in the yard and start tossing a few back.  Thanks to RJ, this years "soundtrack" will be epic.
 
For the record- you needn't be a hippe to join the fun...  But it helps...
 
Have a good weekend fellas...  I am off to get soaked down at Bethpage for the US Open.  They stopped play today becuase everything is underwater.  It is going to be an interesting weekend.  Keep an eye on the TV, and you might see me running around in khakis with a Saranac in my hand.  No phones or cameras allowed on the course though- that sucks...

As long as it's a Yankee player aiming at me I'm not concerned, since we are 8-0 against them this year.  Nice Yankee effort against the Nationals this past week.

You know I'll be there again this year........wouldn't miss it!  Looking forward to meeting some newcomers!  It's good to be back on the forum again....been busy all winter working on the house.
