Yough River outing set for June 27th, 2009!

Ok all you sports fans, it is set! Let's have the Smallie River outing on June 27th, 2009. We can meet down at Cedar Run Park! I have never fished this area before but I am sure that it is fine! What time should we get together? I was planning on being down there at around 7:00 AM. in the morning! How does everyone feel about that? Just respond back and let us try to get some more people envolved! Tell your friends that fish. What a great way to spend the day on the water!

    I’m working mid-shift so it will be late morning before I can make it but June 27th works for me.  I’ll have Mud-Bath the trout stocker with me.  I’ll be coming up river from the Buena Vista launch if anyone needs a ride?  I’ll bring a cooler of ice cold refreshments.
     
    Pavilion #18 (near the river) shows available.  It’s $45/Westmoreland County Resident for the day if interested?

    I'm pretty sure you can't get into Cedar Creek Park until 9am.  If memory serves the official hours are from 9am-dusk, and there is a gate they lock at the top of the hill.

    Subby is correct about Cedar Creek Parks official hours being 9am to dusk.  I talked to a group Cedar Creek Park employees about using the boat launch and was told that they open the gate at day break.

    What happened to the Dawson Area Gad? Cedar Creek is OK with me though. They do lock the gate at sundown but I plan on leaving way before sundown

    Another area that may be of interest is the trail access at Rt. 981 across the river from Smithton.   40° 9'30.31"N    79°44'47.33"W
     
    Lots of parking and easy river access.  No gate, no county park rules…..
