there just aren't that many spots in the catskills that have lakers, I,m sure you know the res. that has 'em. My buddy caught one last year from shore fly fishing in late may. he was surprised. Whish they'd put them in all the reservoirs down their I think they would do great.

jk, my biggest laker was spooning a heavy 72 sutton off the memorial site at roundout some ten years ago.. the liar scale said 10lbs.. i threw it back in for someone else to fish. I have two boats on the roundout one on the nev..one on the shokan (planning on pulling shokan one for the canon) and a couple on the pepac.. i experienced good and bad seasons on all of them.. this year fishing has been good..but i like the stream challenges alittle more I hope to get into marchbrown and green drakes before its finished.. possibly this week. gl

I hear the stream thing, hopefully if the weather cooperates and the rivers come down a little I will be fishing wed and thurs night on one of the catskill rivers. Hate hatching green drakes but love those coffinflies. Good luck

hey you ever get any salmon from the neversink res.

Yes, I only did well one season with green drakes and that was before the major floods .. it was  magic too with those march browns on the lower bk around eastbranch.. You must of remembered Al's dad, his shop had the best ties imo and i always enjoyed his talk ,he taught me so much about the river it's folks history and the fisheries (mhrip) my place is close by and I am always looking forward to hitting my pools both eb and bk. . you are right about those coffinflies..they too are my favorite.. this year no locks..haven't been there fishing in a few weeks.. i been conscentrating more time on canonsville /eb .. i trolled about a half dozen times the nev at least 4 hrs each time with a few all dayers and only small schoolies and one 4.5lber.. i caught enough from shore earlier there but no one seeing those land locks ..usually get those early ice into may but they aren't showing. pepac is showing good pics at Al's sports store .i threw a few slobs back.. i like trolling there too. you want to meet i'll take you trolling and flyfishing if you want.

wish we could meet sometime, but gets harder and harder for me to get down there. I will be their wed night and thurs night but only for a couple of hours and who knows where. Once summer conditions hit I rarely go down there.

welp!, I am going to go up too tomorrow and get the most of what is left of the big bug season. Checking the 10 day forecast it looks like the spillways will be working ot next week. Sure hope it is good overcast calm weather for our oneida trip next week. JK, i'll be hitting the bk just below and above the sunoco station and later maybe fishs eddy or may just head along rt30 if you are interested meeting up, look for a forest green tundra with a cap with silver racks. thurs i'll be doing the same trek.. i might be temped to troll the lake too.

    Fans:

Thought all would enjoy seeing what it was like in the Adirondacks on the REAL MEMORIAL DAY 5/31.  Snow didn't stick, but it sure was coming down around 5:30pm that day.
