New Alex and Latrobe Reservoir

Both of these waters are not supposed to be fished, but I see cars parked by New Alex reservoir all the time and think someone must be fishing it. Latrobe Reservoir is a big beautiful lake, too bad it's off limits. Anyone ever fish either one?

Side note....Why do water authorities think fishing will ruin water? Make a water supply reservoir unpowered boats and artificial lures only and what could happen?

my neighbors sneak into the local reservoirs and fish them and do really really well.  (atleast that is what they claim).  what are the repercussions if you get caught????

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

exactly it. where would the water authority guys have to fish then. they are special you know.

i find it laughable that NYC opened up all of the drinking water reservoirs that were open before 9/11 to public fishing over 2 years ago but local hillbilly water authority guys are still using the "terror" excuse.

they do have one legit beef though. if some of these idiots who think the world is their private garbage can would just bring a bag with them to throw their crap in we might be a little better off.

Fish both and do well, sue me...  The water authority is more worried about kids swimming at Latrobe Reservoir.  That place looked like a friggin' state park two weekends ago...  Never heard of anyone getting thrown out of New Alex.

Here again it is a question of ethics! If you are willing to trespass, what other laws are you willing to break? I am not trying to single anyone out,but what would you do if you caught someone sneaking on to your property? I am sure that liability issues & trash are the main problems with opening either one of those lakes.   sam

I fish one of the lakes mentioned and it is by far one of the best lakes around big big bass and blue gill bigger than my had we sneak into the lake and fish from shore. I saw a largemouth in the lake that would push the records for PA would love to put the boat on it.

The New Alex location, is that the one on the road to Keystone State Park. Where you walk next to a creek, along side of a farmers field. To get to it. I fished that spot many moons ago. It was a great spot then.

Curiousity got the better of me and I check out New Alex reservoir. Way too weedy for my liking right now. Did see huge gills everywhere and some smaller bass along with rediculous amounts of snapping turtles.
