PYMATUNING BASS

ANYONE CATCHING ANY?   I WAS UP SATURDAY AND ALL WE CAUGHT WERE WALLEYS AND GIANT SHAD. I LAUNCHED AT LINESVILLE AND OUR SONAR SAID THE WATER TEMP WAS 41, WE TALKED TO SOMEONE THAT LAUNCED AT JAMESTOWN AND HE SAID THE TEMP DOWN THERE WAS 46. MAYBE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY SONAR. I JUST FIGURED THE NORTH SIDE WOULD WARM UP FASTER.

Thanks for the replies, just one more thing to fix on the boat. Did you guys catch any?  I always have trouble finding bass up there early in the season.

Honestly, I fished the past Saturday from about 9AM till about 1PM, caught 2. Wind was HOWLING out of the North.
I return Sunday (can't fix stupid) to find the wind again out of the North, not quite as bad as Sat but still cookin.
Fished 6 hours, had ZERO bites.

Usually this time of year I can go there and catch 10-20 bass, if not more. The water is behind in warming this year, the water level is lowish, frequent cold fronts, all have made this year pretty challenging.

It's forecasted to be in the mid to high 50's this week with quite a bit of sun. That should get the fish back into the groove and get the water warming. At this point, IMHO, any warming of the water will turn the fish back on.

Ready 2, you sure are a glutton for punishment. That north wind over the weekend was wicked and cold. I appreciated the voice mails with the conditions because they gave me an excuse to stay home and spend some time with the grandkids. The early spring bass fishing at Pymy was decent this year. They were starting to stage like normal but these last few cold fronts really impacted the water temp and set everything back. The warming trend this week should help. Some warmer nights will definately help. Should be back on track by the end of this week. Chug

Wheres the best places to catch them at in the spring? Don't want to know everyones secrets just curious about depth.  I would love to get into some smallmouth. I am thinking about going back up on Saturday.  I have been catching lots of smallmouth down on the Clarion River, just like to try something different.
