I drove by it saturday and it still was covered mostly by ice maybe 3/4 of it. But it could be open by now.

poste this somewhere else a while back. That lake holds some monster sized smallmouths. I was killing them about a year ago using in line spinners by the cemetary swim area. I have some pictures of em on my phone im gonna try and upload somehow.

You can usually email them to yourself  Instead of inserting a phone number use your email address....

I'd like to see some Edinboro Smallies  I have caught a couple of nice ones there myself......

i was there yesterday fishing the finger's & nothing . there should be some crappie's. i think we will need another week of warm weather to get that water temp's up to the 40's .pre spawn water temp for the crappies should be at the 46 to 48 degree mark.  yes i just jumped the gun a little but you never know.

You need a boat, the crappies are just off the fingers and there schooled up good.  We caught 50 in 2 hrs the other day with a lot thrown back too.

Here is kind of a silly question but where are the fingers that everyone talks about in edinboro. i have fished it several time so i am sort of familiar with it but a little direction would be helpful if some could help. Thanks.

Remember, there are two kinds of fishermen, those that fish for sport and those that catch something.

Take angling road from 6n, drive till you hit lay road where it angles to the right, make the sharp right just before lay road.  Drive down the road and you will see the entrance to the back part of the lake.

    "The Fingers" = Penninsula Park

The best part about fishing with me is you never have that annoying fish smell on your hands afterwards.

yes you were right about 100 yard's out. jig about 10 to 14 inches below the float was the ticket. just got the conoe re-regestered friday and just got the chance to fish in it sun evening for about an hour an a half. i know that not long enough but i had to get in to some crappies in a bad way.

so thank you krott243 for the tip.

ya fake lakke rules! Just before dark in tthe summer we used to smash medium sized lm's there. also some gigantic goldfish carp in there as well. The serenity and atmosphere of that town and surrounding area is amazing in the summer. Makes me miss goin to school there. The peeper frogs from the maarsh could be hear pretty much andwhere in town they were so loud. I went from 05-07. Now im back in pittsburgh...lame

Did you anglers give up? The wind sucked today, but I smashed the crappie. If you know where they nest go with a twister tail about a foot under the float close to shore. BAM!
