Bass @ shenango

I'm looking to hit up shenango early this spring in about 3-4 weeks.  Just looking for some help finding the bass this early.  I've never been on this lake that early in the year, I've only fished it in mid to late summer.  Any help so we can have a successful outing would be appreciated.

I usually hit Shenango for the first time each year the last weekend of April primarily because the tourney pressure at Pymy is in full swing by then but also because the pre-spawn bite is usually on at Shenango around that time. Try to target secondary points in spawning areas. My experience is this is the best time of the year to fish Shenango for the big females.

Deeper channels, next to drop offs from shallow flats. The fish should be staging getting ready to move in for the pre-spawn. Jig fishing for your bigger bites or worm fish for a lot of bites.

But this really ALL depends on water temps.

For my fishing reports, product reviews, stories, and other nonsense...
