I don't want anybody's honeyhole , just  general ,successful suggestions that have worked for you as to depth related to time of the season , bait/ lures , tactics , etc ... . Thank you in adavnce !

Now you have to work harder for them,4and 7pounder all season, both on blade baits(vib-e's) Mannings,Snodgrass,Linesville behind ClarK's island, most place's are long hikes and few if any bites, not so many years ago 30 fish a day a Snodgrass was not out of the question, early ice and late ice is best, same as early and late in the day, keep moving, fish now are not schooled as much as before, because there not as plentiful,I'm really not as well to inform you as a local but they like to keep stuff to themselves,as you call understand, some of them still do pretty good.Hope this helps but as you can see I only caught 2 eyes, all year, but both did come on the same day a Mannnings.

Read these words carefully.  It's important to identify spawning areas.  That is the starting and ending point in a walleye's yearly cycle.  The closer we get to ice out, the closer walleyes will be to their spawning areas.  Put the percentages in your favor by concentrating on the largest spawning area of the lake - not for fishing now, just for reference.

As you come away from this area look for prime structure at the dusk and dawn periods within 1/2 mile.  Again the biggest structure will house the most forage and fish.  This will more than likely be rock of some sort in 12 to 18 feet of water.  During the day you will still get a few fish on structure, but the odds really go to fishing deep FLATS, areas with scattered wood or stumps if you can find it in depths of 25 to 35 feet, not to far from a major spawning area will hold some mighty fine gold.

Another consideration, the closer we get to spawn the more fish group up, the more fish group up the more they become competitive for bait.  They must chow to build reserves for the spawn!  Keep your baits off the bottom and go get 'em, Good luck!

Well I truly hope you find and catch more walleyes.  I'm certain you will.  Let me know how you like it.

Before the problems with the fry stocking in the last several years, right about now the pymy walleye would start moving into the sandbars of the causeway, now probably silt covered with the infertility of the lake. The old camp ground shoreline, about 200yds off the Ohio beach, but any drop off close to the causeway used to hold fish. They still head there but now you have to rely on decent electronics and patterning year round,( even though I swear the act different every year) Anyway the best thing I can say is to fish open water right now, and for the next month, like you were ice fishing. Slow - Small - Patience- but cover water, move around. Good Luck!!
