ANY OTHER BEACHES?

any other beach area swim spots on lake erie since presque isle is closed? my boss was going to take his 3 1/2 year old tomorrow to presque isle until i told him it was closed. what else could they do up there? waldemeer park, erie zoo. anything else to do or see? thanks

    There is a beach on the East Side, by the mouth of 12 Mile (I think 12 Mile).  There is also a huge in door water park near the Mill Creek Mall too.

    Avonia beach ( Trout Run ), and the mouth of Sixteen Mile are two that are somewhat popular. There are no lifeguards at either, the park at Sixteen mile DOES have a restroom with ( I believe ) shower, and changing facilities. Waldameer has no beach, but does have a water park.
     
    The two headboats, and the tour boat, operate from the public dock on State street, and are another option.

    The flagship Niagara, and the maritime museum by Dobbin's landing should be open also.

    The public beach at the mouth of 16 mile had a lifeguard on duty the last time I stopped by there in season. I believe it is operated by the community of Freeport rather than the state.

    Water world and splash lagoons are good places to cool off.

    Spoon, Freeport beach (16 mile)DOES have lifeguards, bathrooms, playground, and a small ice cream stand.

    All state museums, the Flagship niagara, Tom Ridge center are all closed.

    There is a good beach at east ave but its not gaurded. open to public.
