great tying book...

while I was packing, i found some stuff i haven't looked at in a while

"the art of fly tying" by john van Vliet

    I've seen that book around. Dont own it myself, but its seemed like one of the better ones i've looked at.

    it has some really nice pictures
    unlike Perrault's standard dictionary

    My personal fav is AK Best's Production Fly Tying. Not a good book for starting out, but it'll make you a better tyer. Lots of good tips you'd never think of. I let a friend borrow my copy a year ago and havent seen it since.
