Mexico

Hey Guys, just got back from a very relaxing and WARM trip to Mexico. Had the chance to fish for a couple days for some bones with a local friend. The weather although warm was cloudy and rainy , which is no good for sight fishing. Had to travel out to a little deeper water( 3 ft) and spot flashers along with a lot of blind casting. The wife came along on one of the days and latched into her first multi bone day.  I have some pictures on Photobucket but am still in the dark a little on the posting. Hopefully this link works. It was a great time, bones are a blast to catch.

Skip,Unfortunately, we were cut short by some unexpected happenings. I wish we could have got to Belize this year but no dice. The bones were small but plentiful and we enjoyed the time we had away from ordinary life. I'm hoping to get up for at least 4 or 5 days at the end of the month around the 27th. I'll call you and let you know what's up.

bug, what part of mexico did you fish? I"ve been going to belize every spring now for eight years running.I have a blast with the bones there although they are small by most peoples standards .I'm looking into trying the bahamas this spring because Ambergris Key is getting a little to built up for my taste these last couple of years. Sounds like you could have used a few more days but then again i would settle for even one day in paradise ,85 degrees sounds pretty good right now.

Thanks Marty for pulling up those pics. The lower one was last years trip in Belize.

I have fished in Ascension Bay, Ambergris and this last trip was the north shore of Cozumel. The fish don't get much bigger than around 20"+/-. Although I have caught a few well above that size. I want to try Andros Island here in the near future, the fish are much bigger.

Dave , you wuss get out there in that cold and catch some fish.I braved a 70 degree coldfront coming though, you can at least wet a line and try for an hour or until your guides freeze up.  Give the boy my best and wish him a good and safe tour. I'll talk to you when you get back and we'll make a trip to erie. I'm off pretty much the rest of the year except for a few days. Had to come back for work earlier than we would have liked.
