Surface Feeders and More

Mike, I hope this does not violate TOS (terms of service, not the opposite sex!).  Seems to me it's a different venue, but I understand and apologize up front if you need to pull it.

That said, being bored and wishing I was fishing I found a great online magazine with some of the best fishing pictures I've yet seen (outside this board, of course!).  You can find it here:  http://catchmagazine.net/  There is also some fantastic video.

Some highlights:

Current Issue (there have only been two so far)  the picture of a school of skipjacks on a flat coming out of the water right at the camera.  Talk about is it real or is it memorex--I believe it's real but it's pretty incredible.

The Kamchatka video (KJH it even includes a dog)

First issue:  Table of contents, little video playing in upper right hand corner, large trout comes clear out of the water to take an insect

Incredible stills of trout feeding on the surface--how'd they get those shots?  Wow!

that is probably my favorite online mag... much more accessible and relaxed than "this is fly"
    lots of pics... few words

only downside is they are slow to update and there are only 2 issues as of now

(don't think it is a TOS violation)

    Hey KJH,

How do they get those surface feeding photos?  Could some of them be taken in a large aquarium?  Or is it just a matter of logging enough hours to be in the right place at the right time?

    no aquarium... real deal
outdoor photography is a skilled profession
know the hatches and spend a month to get 1 shot
you don't see the 1000s of out of focus/ missed action/ poor framing

those few pictures could be a collection of 1 photog that took 8 years to assemble
and the $100,000 worth of equiptment

Thanks, KJH.    I appreciated the beauty of those pictures when I first saw them.  Now I appreciate the craft behind them as well.
