Steel only?

Just a quick question to satisfy my curiosity. I fish all year, for all species. Often I fish two poles at a time. I just seriously enjoy everything about fishing. I love the beautiful places I go, the early morning sun, my day changing on a dime with that "prize fish", Hell..I enjoy packing my equipment and changing my line. I enjoy going to the tackle shop and picking up a new plug or spinner and saying "I'm gonna smash one on THIS tommorow"...and then doing it. I can't picture letting this go when steel ends like some of you do. So my question is this:
How many of you fish all year and for what?
How many of you only steel fish...and what occupies your time after the season?

I don't always snag fish, but when I do...
I choose Little Cleos

I'm the best looking smartest snagging poacher alive...

Winter: small amounts of ice fishing and some Steel if streams are open..

Spring: trout, waleye, panfish and lots more panfishing

Summer: morning panfishing then getting into air conditioning..hate hot days

    Fall: salmon browns steel..

will fish for other species if the mood strikes me but the trout/salmon/char family( fun), walleye(food/fun) and panfish(food/fun) are what I likes.

SO MANY FISH SO LITTLE TIME.
WHY ARE ALL THE PLACES I HAVE YET 2 FISH SO FAR AWAY?

fish all year round..........for whatever swims and whatever is available at a particular time of year...........although, with my partial new shoulder--I won't be drilling holes anytime soon....if ever again.....the shoulder still isn't right and my left arm is messed up from some sort of nerve damage that nobody wants to take credit for..............

the family dictates when I fish and what I get to fish for.......before I had a family........daily fishing somewhere.....if it has fins and swims.........I don't mind trying to catch it..........

I  respect you all who fish for all species. I just can not do it all. The D word is not one I would like to here.    Fishing for perch and walleye is a good summer break, but the steel is my passion.  Catch some for me!

If time permits , I fish year round too. If theres no work to be done then im fishin.
Spring time - trout , crappie , perch , bluegills
Summer time - perch , smallies , walleyes , bluegills
Fall time - steelies , perch
Winter time - steelies , perch and crappies through the ice

I do fish for all of the above species from land and by boat and on the ice. I just enjoy it alot. Ive said before that fishing is my release from all that is wrong with the world today and if I can have some peace and serenity for just a few hours at a time then Im able to deal with the monotony of the real world untill its time to go fishing again.

Multi species/seasonal fisherman here.  Each species I fish for has a unique quality in itself that brings me complete enjoyment and a challenge fishing for.  Do I have a true favorite?  I'd say my heart goes to the muskie most just because of it's illusiveness, the fact that its feared by every other fresh water fish, and it's massive size.  Not to mention the thousands I have invested in muskie fishing!  However, fishing for each specific species helps me learn something new to try for other species I fish for.  It gives me a sense of open mindedness to try alternative methods with various species that you might not think of trying when targeting only one.  If you can understand what I mean?

Seasons and species I like to pursue:
    Spring: crappie, walleye, muskies, smallmouth
    Summer:  muskies, walleye, striper
Fall:  Steelhead, muskies, walleye and perch
    Winter:  Steelhead

I feel exactly the same way. I fish for it all, anytime...anywhere. My personal favorite used to bass. However, the last few years while bass fishing, I have smashed some giant pike. May even have had a muskie or two on this summer. I'm really thinking of pursuing muskie a little harder this year. I'm diggin' the angry slashing fish.

Just as I get tired of catching one, it's time to catch something different.  PA is awesome.  Although the Months of May and October need to be longer.

I don't think I know anyone who only fishes for Steel.

By this time of year, the folks I fish with have all caught a couple hundred Steel and are now hoping to see Zero degrees for a about a week so that we get some hard water. The current weather sucks. If it's going to be cold, it might as well be cold enough to make ice I can walk on.

Come March, we'll be routing for the melt and the water to warm for the Wipers.

By July, I'll be routing for warm nights and big cats.

Come September, we'll I'd bet ya'll can guess.

I myself have a multitude of species that I fish for.

    Fall and Winter: Steelhead
    Spring: Trout and Pike
    Summer: Smallmouth,Largemouth, and Blugills

I enjoy all the above with a flyrod! The summer of 2008, I went on a charter on Lake Erie for Walleye. That has been the first time in 25 years that I held another rod and reel other then a flyrod in my hand to catch fish! What I find even more intriguingly is why we fish for all the different species we do fish for? What draws us to fishing? Second of all, Why do we fish the way we do? IE: Why do some-people fly fish and others use Spinning rods and bait casting equipment? Third, what type of people do you fish with? Fourth, What bodies of water do we mostly fish in? I am curious to know the answers to some of these questions.

May your fly rod always be bent!
