Bait Shops...

After all these years I hate to say I have only ever gone to Poor Richards for my bait and tackle supplies. We are planning on heading up tomorrow from Pittsburgh. I was planning on heading over to the east side of the lake to fish the mile streams, and since the Poor Richards is no longer on the east side, I was hoping that someone could let me know on where to go over there so I can get some bait and skein. I just can't see driving to Poor Richards, then driving all the way back over to the east side of town. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I just walked over and looked at 4 mile creek, there is no water to speak of a few fish and a lot of anglers, in my opinion you would do better on the west side.....

I fished the east side this morning 11/9/08, 20 mile , what sprinkles we did get had no effect on the east side cricks, very low and clear right now. Fishing was tough managed only 1 hook up in 3 hours. All fish are held up in the deeper holes. East end angler has all you will need . There on rt5 in harborcreek right next to Partners(da country ballet) some call it.

I agree. I live on the East side, very close to most of the creeks, and I'm not even fishing the east side.

But if you want solitude, go for it, except on 4 mile creek, which is now The Nut style fishing.  Only fish there are in a small hole at the mouth surrounded by 20 to 30 fishermen of widely varying expertise.

And yes East End is the only shop on the East side, near the mile creeks.

To fish 4 mile properly you must be fluent in at least 4 different languages. Good luck!!
