Ticks

For those of you out scouting for birds.

Beware the ticks are out in full force.

I picked atleast 20 of them off me today.

One was imbedded pretty good in my neck.

Nothing like finding one tick to make you start to scratch.

More than a million trees a year die to print environmentalist publications.

Ticks were out of control last archery/rifle season! No exaggeration, I would brush off 20-30 ticks each time I was hunting. Not surprised to see them in full force this year. Hopefully the turkey's will consume some.

It better be a very large flock. Read that the warmer winters is the cause of the tick explosion. Need very cold winters to kill the ticks. Another affect of global warming.

Good to see this warning on here, Were not sure If I have  Lymes or not,, right after deer season I started to get some pretty weird symptoms,, arthritis like pain in my back, and legs,, infections that wouldnt clear up,, chest pain,,blood pressure up and down, as I was telling Bugdrifter on the South East forum,, they ran and are still running test,, bone scans,, CT scans,, blood work,, Nothing showed up,, I kept telling them to check for Lymes,, My (former) Doc said we dont have lymes here and your symptoms dont fit it,, but she ran it (I think just to appease me)and of course it came back negative,, which from what I have read can come back negative plenty of times if you dont do the right test,, so now i;m being checked out in Pittsburgh,, was there two weeks ago and they took plenty of blood to check for everything using the right testing criteria,,, (If you ever think your family Doc isnt listening,, DROP HIM OR HER,, I decided to go to Shea Medical Center in Shadyside,, its a teaching Hospital and these future Doctors are on top of there stuff,, ),, I never recalled getting bit by a tick,, but 50% of the time you dont,, If this turns out to be lymes,, trust me,, you dont want it,,, be carefull out there

Well--- Everybody that wanted the deer killed off said they were the biggest carrier of ticks and therefore were the cause of lyme disease. Now that the herd has been cut in half the ticks have found some new hosts. I guess now we will have to kill off the dog, cat, turkey, and human population to stop the spread of the disease.   Not meant to make fun of your problem Bait Chucker.

Must be they don't like me. I cut trees for a living and am in the woods 8-10 hrs almost everyday. Archery season, trout fishing streams, turkey hunting and I have yet to find a tick. Maybe we're just cold enough here we usually record at least one or two nights a year with minus 20 degree temps in feb.
