Speaking of the drive up to Erie, one of the things I like is when the trooper (far right) pulls out in front of you instead of behind...

Making a list is hard to do as I am sure that I'll forget so many.

Anyways

Catching Fish
Hooking and quick releasing fish (after they do their dance on top of the water)
Brews
Crews
Campfires

And I always like to see the kids that are coming up on a fly rod.

I remember year before last... maybe more. There was a group of maybe five young boys hiking the streams (fly rods and self tied flies in hand) and they were catching fish left and right. They even had better stream side manners then most adults. It was almost humorous to see them walk down the stream catch a fish upstream of a fisherman, release it reel in walk around the guy and catch another below him and be on their way. All he could do was step back and scratch his head, as he was not catching any. :)

Watching my two sons having a ball, getting away from their studies at Penn State and the University of Washington. It costs me a bundle, but it is all worth it.

I don't really know enough yet to be as successful as most of you are.  I tend to buy everything I can think of before I head to Erie, and then buy what they are hitting when I get there.  Usually empties the wallet pretty efficiently.

My best day was a 5 fish day last season, but I'm learning a little bit every time I go.  Not saying I'm improving much tho.

With that being said, I've really only ever had one bad experience on the tribs.  I've had a lot of frustrating days watching other people catch fish, but it only makes me try harder and want to learn more.

My moment of zen came last year when my buddy and I tossed my last fish in the bag and were getting ready to go home.  I took my leftover skank and etc. down to the access at elk and gave it to a fella fishing with his little kids.  Seemed like he knew less than me, unbelievable as it was, and they hadn't had any hits yet.

Anyways, I cut him off a piece of the skank and he tossed some on for his son.  I wish I hadn't been pressed for time cause I would've loved to have seen that little DuUd hook one on his mickey mouse rod.

For me it's seeing the fish strike. When they make that move that is not ordinary. Thats when all you can think of is. SET THE HOOK. Also watching the indicator go down. It's is a great time, thats why I love the Erie tribs.
