Mud at Elk Creek

Anyone who has ever fished Elk Creek knows about the very deep mud right upstream from the boat launch. I myself lost a wading boot there years ago and had a friend do the same. Saturday while fishing that area I saw this dude step into the mud and went mid-thigh high into the mud. I started looking around for a stick to throw him but he was already working his way out. The mud took his boots off and he was effectively tearing up his waders trying to get out of the mud. It wasn't too funny while it was happening but after he got back to the bank safely and I walked a ways up the stream I couldn't help myself but to chuckle. Anyone who doesn't know about the mud should be careful when fishing that area and if you not sure always let your buddies go first.

it's a big mud pit that's on the way upstream from elk access.  everyone going upstream from the parking lot goes that way, impossible to miss.

IT IS DIRECTLY RIGHT OF THE BOAT LAUNCH. as said before walk up about25 yard's u from the boat launch then cross. it is funny to watch other's get stuck. but you do have to watch out for children & senior angler's  .these people can get in to big trouble if they fall in to the mudd patch. there should be a warning sign there right of the launch to warn angler's .  just my opion.

was up this past weekend, nothing but mud and leaves on the otherside of the creek from the launch to the lake... rough to walk in--up to your knee... we caught fish though--not the run everyone is looking for
