Video of Creeks

Since I did not get any replies to my previous post, I decided to look for some videos today online and found a Oct. 3rd video that someone taken of the creeks. Has anyone had any luck when the streams are high and muddy like theyy been the past few days? I fished Walnut yesterday and had no success. I used spoons, white jigs, and white rooster tails and had no luck at all. Here is the link to the video I found taken today (October 3rd, 2008):

Let me know what you think and if you had any luck with the creeks being high and muddy. Good luck to all and tight lines.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I even tried different colors of Powerbait and still nothing. DO you guys/girls think when the creeks are in the current condition, high and muddy, that fishing is very limited?

Definitely tough to fish in extremely high and fast water, reagardless of clarity, but also hard to catch.  Nonetheless, it isn't impossible.  You must find current breaks-- those fish need to rest now and then.  Also, I would recommend larger baits/flies and DARKER colors.  Whites for bright and darks for stain.

It is tougher. Skein is never a bad choice. I've even caught fish in murky water on a single egg, albeit it was not pure chocolate and not flood stage, but a slower pool. I would stick with skein, brighter and bigger egg patterns, and yarn. Darker jigs in slow pools will work. As would darker flies.

If you are a hardware chucker I would say go with a small spinner that makes noise and fish the seams between the fast and slow water.  A big muddler or an attractor fly (are you there fisherofmen) fished in the same seams will work too.   Prior knowledge of the structure and the dynamics of the creek help a lot.  If you knew where some slack water was below that flood and could drift down to it you could score very well.  Just my .02.

I thought it was white in dark muddy water and darker browns and black in clearer water? Am I wrong? I swore I read that somewhere before.

I said it the way I intended and know it.  Others might disagree.  I'll see if I can find my Jimmy Houston color-wheel and get back to you.
