"One Fly" Update.

Gentlemen,
Things seem to be going fairly smoothly.  We have prizes in hand, many door prizes available, and some food laid on.  Tim is working on the Night Before, and schlemoc is working on a commerative patch..
We have 60 folks signed up and it is going to be a big, hopefully fun, time.  We need some rain about 3 days before.
Now I have some requests for those attending:
Please try to get there early.  We need time to log folks in .

If you can, please come and help us set up and get things rolling.

Teams!: Please bring one car with two folks if possible, parking is a little tight at the pavillion.  I realize this will not be possible for some but should be for others.

If you lose your fly; all fish caught before the loss counts as both team and individual scores.  You just can't catch any more in the competition since it's a One Fly test.

If you both lose your flies (team) you can either just come back or keep fishing till time.

You must be at the start/finish by 1:00pm to check in! We will probably allow some leeway on this, but not much!  If you get back early, so much the better, Rapala11 and Skip will be there.

Fishing will start at 9:00am. So if you get there early and check in you may depart to your chosen location after 8:30am.

If, for some reason all the prizes for fishing are not won outright, they all will be given as door prizes.

I hope to be there by 7:30 am and set up by 8:00am.  All teams should already be on the board.  All we need to do is collect flies and sign in for prizes.   If you are bringing food or a prize: see Bughawk for the prizes, and Skip with the food.  We will try to put your pizes in the rotation where they seem most appropriate; with your input.  Name cards will be available if you want to show who you are.  I need one to remember WHO I AM. Last year, by the end of the day, I thought I was Orvis because that's what I had on my chest!  LOL!
Your consideration and help will make this go sooooo much better for all.  Again Thank you for your Supoport and Paticipation!

    Doc,
That's my goal.  If you see me waddleing around aimlessly, with a glazed expression, put an Adult Carbonated Beverage in my hands and point me to a bench.  Doc  pm me.

    Rapala 11,
It's easy.  You just: Go over the river and thru the woods past grandmothers house and then follow the yellow brick road to the 2d star on the right and then straight on till morning.

Actuallly,  Go the the stop light in Girard and turn North on Route 18 (Rice Street.)  Continue on rice street for 2 tenths of a mile and turn left onto Lake street. (it's actually more of a half left.)  Continue on Lake for 3/10 mile; the park entrance is on the left right after a house with strangely shaped bushes in the yard.  We should have a sign posted. ( If you get to the schools you went too far.) Go down the hill to the pond and take a right, continue taking rights  (signs posted) till you come to the pavillion. Or you can hook up with me or Skip at the Night Before and we will drive and you can hitch a ride or follow.    Skip has a map posted on the first page of the "One Fly" thread.  pm me and we'll talk.

to add to Indi's directions, the left turn off Lake St at the house with manicured/shaped trees, is just before a stop sign.
If you go to the stop sign, look behind your left shoulder a couple hundred feet  and you'll see the road you need to drive down

    Genieman,
Yeah! The entrance is a little hard to see.  I know where it is and I still drive by at least once.  LOL

    Gentlemen,
Looks like we may have a small amount of rain/wet on Saturday.  Might be a good idea to bring the wet gear.  But then you know Erie,  could rain like noah or be warm and sunny.  Calling for maybe 30%.  So I have to find the 70% of the creek that isn't getting rain.  Maybe it will only rain North of Rt. 5!   Or only rain on D. Beavers' lease.  (that's a nice thought)
