Bob & 222,

Bob, that pic is a keeper for sure, Robbie will enjoy that pic as he grows older and as far as being easy, I could never deny a fisherman a good tip at an expense, just not my nature.

I will be more than happy to meet you at Greg's for wings, but first you got to tell me where Greg's is.

And the Beam we can drink on the river or golfing if you like to golf. I also got a bottle in the bag for medicinal purposes, like when I go to drive a ball and swing as hard as I can and miss the ball.....that smarts on my lower back....lol
Where you from 222?

I fish further upstream. But just try the trib areas. I never caught an eye in the Yough but bagged many sauger. What you are using should do the trick if you find the fish.

ORIGINAL: eyesandgillz

Fished the Yough on Sat. afternoon for a couple hours.  Launched at Boston and ran up river about 1.5 miles according to the GPS.  Caught a few smallmouth, a few white bass and lots of rock bass.  Just bounced an 1/8 oz jig with half a crawler along the shoreline.  Anyone ever do any good for walleye in this stretch?   There are some deeper holes and was just wondering.  I did try trolling but only for 15 or 20 min. before I left with a plug and a harness but never had a hit.

Anyone with experience in this stretch or other areas close by that want to show me the ropes post up.  I have a 14' starcraft with a 15hp and a 55hp bow mount.  I don't get out as much as I like but it would be nice to hit up the river with someone who knows it better than I to maximize the time out.  A couple sheckles towards gas and/or bait is appreciated but not needed.

We caught a lot of wallies way down stream in Christy Park last year in June. Oddly enough, bright sunny 80 degree plus days.

71gto,

Greg's is the first bar on the left coming into Smthton coming from route 51.

I live in East Huntingdon Twp, just outside of Scottdale.  Was born an raised in Monongahela.

Don't really golf, just fish, hunt and race.

I know what you mean about keeping a bottle handy for medicinal purposes.  Never know when you might get bit by a snake.

Heading up to Elk County to fish and go horseback riding this weekend.  Backed a real big bottle for this trip, alot of snakes up there.

Maybe we can hook up in a week or two.

Watch yourselves out there, they are catchin' gators in the Yough now a days...
Anyone hear anything more?
I am assuming that it was someones pet that they didn't want or couldn't take care of.

MossyOak and 5 others of us took a canoe trip from Dawson to Layton on Monday, managed to catch 1 rainbow, 5 walleyes and a whole bunch of bass and some huge rock bass. We saw a ton of fish in the river.

How was the water?  We usually do that trip every year.  Some times when the water level is low it makes it a bit tough.  Always a good trip though.

On the 28th a 28 inch 9 lb. walleye was caught above the Big bridge near bareass beach. Young woman was using a night crawler.

DirtDit, a buddy at work brought in a picture of that. That is wild.
I believe that you assume correctly there.

*edit* Typo.

So does anyone know of a place in the area to get the black prism tape?
I called Jimmys sport shot in southgreensburg, delmont sport shop, cabelas, gander hell, dicks.
Most places had no idea what I even was talking about.
