NPL2, thanks.  we fished a nice hole below that bridge for a few hours and landed a handful.  definately a nice experience for the first time on a new stream.

    Hi all,
I'm new to this forum.  I just discovered Pine Creek and it's a great local place to fish.  The only access point I know is off Dunkin and Bryant.  Are there better spots for access?  I think the area below the RR bridge is fly fishing only. I am not a fly fisherman so I have not gone into that area.  Thanks in advance for the help.

if you go to the end of bryant you reach sample road. make a right onto sample and go over the railroad tracks. there is a gravel lot to park at and you can go upstream from there

    northparklake2,
also thanks for posting the access info. fished upstream and downstream that sample rd/RR access yesterday evening.  caught nothing and had a great time fly fishing the creek.  anyone have any tips for what has worked in the creek lately?  caddis flies were all over the place, but i couldn't get or see a rise.  fish were there, though.  i'm also not that good.
there were also some sheepshead? in the creek.  really nice woody spot.

I would also like to know where the fly fishing spots are. Been looking around up and down Rt.8 and have found a couple good entrance spots. Only name of the building I know of is behind the Michelin tire place on the right hand side after Elfinwild, and near one of the factories across from Glenshaw Glass. How is the fishing further down stream behind Shop and Save, and Glenshaw glass?

I do have a kick-boat as well and want to try it out on North Park lake sometime. Do I need a license in PA to use it? http://zomb.alphite.ca/kickboat.jpg

    Thanks in advance

you would want to come further upstream. come north on route 8 until you come to duncan ave. at the BP gas station. make a left onto duncan and follow that until you pass a golf driving range. a little ways past that on the right is a small road called bryant road and turn right onto that and follow that down into the valley and you will see pine creek. walk up or down from there. and any nonpowered boat can go into north park lake. it doesnt need to be registered since it is a county lake.

fished there today at the r.r. trestle, caught a couple, but it was slow.  did see a huge largemouth lurking, but couldn't get a strike.  those fish probably have seen everything in the book.  why does the sign at the flea market parking lot say "fishing only at bridge"?  Are you not allowed to fish downstream from there?

i have heard that a few people near the flea market and from the wildwood highlands are yelling at fishermen to get out. no idea whats up. in the past the flea market owner has been very accomodating to people fishing.

Was at the flea market last sunday (5/20/07).  The sign asking fishermen to park up top and walk in and leave by a certain time is still up at the entrance.

the flea market is getting worse towards fishermen, i just park on wildwood sample at the pull off and walk through the woods.
