Books and/or classes

Anybody know of any good fly tying classes around the Pittsburgh area? Or perhaps of any good fly tying books?

Matt there are so many books out there for tying that the best to do is hit a lg book store and look through them prior to purchasing any of them. By looking quickly through them you get a quick idea if its for you or not.

For fly tying lessons in general call around to the local fly shops or TU chapters for lessons. You may find that there is a fee to cover material costs, and you can use or purchase the tools needed.

Post Gazette has a list of fly tying classes in the Sunday sports section.
There may not be any listed some weeks though.

The Orvis shop in Aspinwall has classes, not too expensive. They have special ones for steelhead.   Fishmonger

Trout Flies, by Dave Hughes. I got it for Dad's Day. What a great daughter!

Also there are some great reources on the Internet. Check out the Charlie's Fly Box and Fly Fish Ohio sites. Plenty of others, too.
