Hybrid Stripers in Allegheny reservoir?????
Just wondering if their are Hybrid's in the lake. A few times camping up their I remember hearing alot of fish jumping on the surface, in the early morning, late night hours. If they are not stripers anyone have an idea what they could be????

I caught a few stripers 16"-20" but don't know if they were hybrid.
South of Willow Bay Drifting with a nightcrawler 10-15 foot down.

 I better ask rippinlip instead. He don't get mad. I sold my custom 700 bdl 22-250 heavy brl., but still have the .243 rem. it's better "against the wind" "BS" anyhow. Good Luck with your main st. I mean meen streak.

A tenant made the mistake of stealing from me.
I made the mistake of grabing him while 911 was listening on speaker phone.
He is now in jail on other charges.
If you can't evict someone just remove their doors for repairs.

I have seen or rather heard all the crashing there too.It was quite a few years ago.The baitfish was so thick at that time my buddy was scooping them in the boat with just his hand.We tried all the lures we had with very little success.The fish had all the food they needed.I did catch one fish on top and was expecting a bass.But low and behold it was a Walleye.Some of the fish busting the top were walleye.

I haven't fished the lake much, but I did catch a few big 17 inch white bass there. They were crashing bait on the surface over deep water. Bright sun, middle of July. I'm sure that's probably what you caught. Next time you catch one, look and feel it's tongue. There is a small tooth patch on it, they almost look like a blister, if you touch them they feel like sand paper. If it's one circular tooth patch, it's a white bass. Hybrids or stripers will have two tooth patches that will usually be more of a long skinny oval shape.
