bluegill and crappie

Looking to do well with the bluegill and crappie on fathers day with the kids. I don't have a boat so we will be on the peninsula fishing off shore.  Where would be a good place with good footing for the kids?  What type of bait works well? Thanks.

    Try the lagoon or horseshoe pond, they always hold panfish. Try worms, grubs or small minnies.

    Thanks for the help! Any tricks for larger crappie and blues, we are going to have a small fish fry later with what the group catches.

    Chaska, I don't know if this fits in financially, but they rent pontoon boats in the lagoons that you could fish in the lagoons, Misery bay and the main bay if it isn't too rough. Just in case you didn't know! Have fun with the kids.

    My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

    Thanks, funds are a little tight right now my wife is due in July with #3.  I kinda stopped fishing in my twenties and now my kids are old enough to be my fishing buddies, all my gear along with my common sense went MIA so now I have to start from srcatch.  Thanks for all your help.
