Any place upstream from Kittanning . . . June is a 'transitional month'. H20 temps still low enough to hold them in some of the same eddies and breaks as late spring, but you will also find them in their 'dog days' hangouts--fast water! Once water temps get to high 60s-low 70s, need to fish areas where relatively deep water is available just off of riffles/highly oxygenated areas. Since they seem to hang in faster, 'shallow' water in the summer (4-5 foot run early a.m. and before dark is among my favorite summertime haunts between Tionesta and Tidioute), general rule is SUN=BAD; LOW LIGHT=BETTER; VERY EARLY A.M./DUSK-NIGHT=GOOD.
Have no idea how to fish the dredged Allegheny/Locks below Kittanning, if you're into that, someone else will have to chime in.
