    Clearwater,

I have a Ross Evolution and just love it.  For the money, it is a good choice.

    Hard to beat a Ross.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

unless your fishing for bone fish with it you don't need a $300 high end reel.  one for around $100 would be fine.

I agree with gatekeeper. I have both the Lamson and the Teton. I like the Lamson better. Tremendous reels.

Nobody needs a big screen TV either.  Nobody needs a 3000 SQF house either.  Nobody needs 10 fishing rods either.  Nobody needs a safe full of guns either.  Nobody needs a fast computer either.  Nobody needs a car that goes faster than the speed limit either.

I have had my Ross Rythm for....going on 2 years now and it has performed absolutely flawlessly for me.  I think you made a great choice.  I also went with the slate gray, definately looked nicer.

    Clearwater,
Guess I'm too late,  BUT:  There is a guy on e-bay selling reproduction Vom Hoff reels in the sizes you mentioned.  They appear to be sweeeet!  The original Vom Hoff's have set the standard for fly reels for years and currently sell for $$$$.  If these repos are 1/2 the reel of the originals they would be great.  Antique looking too, yet all modern.  I'm going to pick up a couple this summer.
