Yesterday, I had the fortune of speaking with a guy who seems to know the deal. I was fixing the lower unit on my parents pontoon to put it on the lake for the year and a nice, retired age, gentleman stopped to chat and eventually help me with the dreaded water tube alignment! He claims that last year he caught no less than 200 eyes in Glendale. He said to fish the flats at dusk and that he does that nearly everyday at dusk. He would not tell me the exact name of what he was throwing but I did see him hook up later with what appeared to be a walleye. It looked like he was throwing a medium to deep running fatter bodied crankbait than I would ever condsider putting on the end of my line at that lake. This guy seemed to have a handle on things but reinforced the fact that time spent equals fish caught. I may have to try this tactic as I am determined to catch some nice sized lake walleye this year.
Good Fishing,
Brent
