Chartiers Creek

I don't ever fish it, but thought I'd post this.  There is going to be some major work done on it in the next year or so.  Those that fish it, might be a little inconvenienced for a little while, but sounds like it will be to your benifit in the years to come.
 
 
Description

The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract for Repairs to the James G. Fulton Local Flood Protection Project at Chartiers Creek, PA. The work consists of the removal and disposal of sediment deposits from Chartiers Creek and Miller Run througho ut the eleven mile length of the James G. Fulton Local Flood Protection Project.     The project also includes the replacement of existing failed concrete slope paving, repair of eroded stream banks, and replacement of failed gabion mattress slope protection.       Specific work features includes     Excavation and disposal of sediments in a Contractor furnished disposal site - Replacement of failed concrete slope paving with new concrete toe wall and concrete slope lining - Replacement of gabion mattresses with a new     stone protection system and Reconstruction of eroded channel embankments and placement of a stone protection system.     The period of performance will be 400 calendar days.     Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.     This procurement wi ll be 100% set aside for certified 8(a) contractors within the Pittsburgh portfolio of the Small Business Administration agency in Pittsburgh, PA.     The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued approximately April 30, 2007 on-line only through FedTeDS; the refore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored.     Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation through FedTeDS at http://www.fedteds.gov.     Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will     be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.     For additional contracting opportunities go to the Army Single Face to Industry website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/, click on Contracting Opportunities and f ollow the directions or go to http://www.fedbizopps.gov, click on Go Find Business Opportunities and follow the directions.
