Nice Largie

Fished Presque Isle on Sunday and happend to catch my biggest large mouth bass to date.  Measured 20 inches and a girth of around 16-17 inches.  I was alone on the boat and rushing to get the fish back in the water so the girth is a close as I could get myself.  With that fish weight calculator thing it puts it at around 6.5 - 7 lbs.  Fish came on an x-rap smacked off the bottom and paused for a moment - caught a decent amount on Sunday with that method.

Has anyone else been seeing bigger LM's in the past 2 years in Presque Isle?

Thanks - the thought crossed my mind to keep it but I'd rather let it swim to be caught again -- only when it's bigger, of course!

I did notice the same thing thsi year. On a recent outing in mmisery bay area we were cathing many 3 lbers on a regular basis. I recall in years past, even last year, that the largemouth were mostly the 12-15" size. this is great for the fishery. If Everyone practices the proper conservation methods it will keep getting better.

Nice Bass! I caught my biggest largemouth last September in the bay. The bay has been a b**** for years now and I dont think that they are suddenly getting bigger but I could be wrong.  In any case nice fish

I actually thought it was just a good smallie at first but when it came up to try to jump I saw the green back and knew it was a monster LM instead.

Graps, you're welcome to come up, just let me know and we'll get you out on my boat.  Fishes 3 comfortably...
