Pigeon Creek at the Mon

Has anyone been fishing for White Bass, Walleye, or Saugeye there? Any luck?

Is this the creek that runs along 481 I believe?  Dont they stock that with trout?  I imagine you guys are talking about the mouth of it though.  Live in Monagehla and have been wondering if that is any good to fish.  Any ideas where to park to get down there?  Any help is appreciated.

Ax - I don't believe that Piegon Creek is stocked with trout. The closest creek to Monongahela that gets trout in Mingo Creek and that is on the other side on the city and I think they only stock up in the park area. I lived in the city about 30 years ago and Mingo was stocked back then and sometimes I would fish as far as a mile below the park and catch trout. I believe Mingo was or is to be stocked this week.

I know I've parked on the left hand side after you go over the little bridge that crosses the creek.  Thanks for the posts.  I know spring is good for the white bass and I like to take my boy down there.

Pigeon Creek is stocked with trout by a bait shop near Bentleyville.  The shop is off of Beallsville Road near Ellsworth.  I don't remember the name of the shop, but it's right across from the Bentleyville Apartments.   I believe it's mainly stocked near Richardson Park in Bentleyville.  Stocking buttons are available at the Friendship Lounge(cute bartenders FYI) in Richeyville(right behind the Get-Go on US-40).

Thanks guys for the info.  I always see some people fishing the creek down by Cox's market right across from the soccer fields.  I was aware that mingo was stocked but I just cant get into fishing that little creek there and I only live 5 minutes from the park.  I fished it a few times but man is it small and from what i saw it gets hit hard and fished out quick.  I may have to go down to the mouth of Pidgeon some night and see what I can get into.  Any day fishing is better than work.

The tackle shop that stocks is called PA Lures. Great place to buy bait and tackle when they're open.

Here's a website for PA Lures: http://www.palures.com . Nice little tackle store.  Good to see a tackle store in that area again that's stuck around.  I remember the old Buck Trews store from back in the day.

Pigeon Creek at the Mon can be a hot spot for carp at times-----nothing real big, maybe 10 lbs. tops, still bigger than about any other fish ya can catch there, except maybe catfish.
