Powell TiMax

Anyone fished one?  I've cast one.  I'm considering adding an 8'3" 4wt to my arsenal.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

    Brian,
Powell has always made excellent rods. Never handled this rod, though. Heard it is a fast stick.
If you like the way it cast both long and up close, go for it.
Make sure you're test casting the rod with a leader and fly.
Another nice rod for a good price but a little slower is the St. Croix Avid. I tried out an 8' 4wt. and thought it was well worth the $$. I eventually traded up to the Legend because I already had a more moderate 4 but I kind of wish I would have kept it.

I have an avid and it is a sweet rod.  Mine is a 5wt 9ft. and I paid $240 for it.  I really am glad that i settled on that rod.  It can shoot out 70 ft of line and still load up close(with a little help from me).  They call it a Moderate Fast action.  Let me know if you have any questions on it.

I got my new rod and had to try it for 10 mins or so at PI.  I have it matched with a Rodd Cimmaron 1 and a Rio Grande line.  One word, SWEET!!!

Definately a step up from my old Pflueger.w_w.
