Has any one made a fly box

I am tired of spending so much money on such a simple item. I even went so far as to look on you tube for one.

I'm in the same boat, Pgh Kid. Been contemplating this for a few weeks, actually. I saw a link a while back showing just how to do this, basically just involved something like a rolaids tin and foam insert.

if you have extra window seal foam strips it works well glued in a tin or plastic box.it won't rust.

Put your flies in a plastic zip lock bag. Doesnt get more white trash than that.

OK. even cheaper.  Get some of the free magnetic refrigerator magnets at a trade show and peel them off and stick them in the metal box.

don't throw those empty snuff cans away. they will hold a lot of nymphs. for dries, take some of your kids clay and flatten this on the bottom of the snuff can. push the hooks in the clay. they're watertight also and color coded. skoal= nymphs. copenhagen= dark body flies. bandits= terrestrials
husky wintergreen= light color flies. you get the picture. lol.

Would a flyfishing purist even think about using a fly with scent on it?

I found this and thought what a great fly box that would make, but I guess If  $3.99 for a foam box is out of your budget ,you will never afford the 3 easy payments of $ 19.95 for this little gem!!!
