Yeah the turn around might be you catching some nicer bass for a few years until the walleyes get back into the swing.  Until then it looks like there's gonna be alot more white spinnerbaits and a few less white jig heads.

I don't think stocking is the problem, I think the siltation, leading to poorer quality habitat and overpredation by the abundance of Alewife in the lake is the biggest problem, they still stock a ton and Alewife love perch and walleye fry.  Don't have to go any further than Saginaw Bay to see the impact.  There Salmon/Alewife crash in 2001 & 2002 has allowed perch and walleye hatches to flourish ever since.  The numbers are incredible due to the lack of predation from these invaders.

Lower the creel to 3 fish! the fish commish has to know that natural reproduction is hard if not impossible in that habitat!

cannot see how lowering the limit at pymy would be of help.  little natural reproduction.  the lake basically is a put and take lake when it comes to walleye.

GET RID OF THE ALEWIFE and put in some upstream impediments to sediments and dredge some of the feeders so reproduction can take place!

Too bad Pymy isn't deeper.  It would be cool to have Chinooks in Pymy to control the Alewife like they have in some upper midwest Reservoirs.

Imagine watching a 6 or 7# Chinny ripping the drag out of your spinning reel???

what a thought    i can't see them ever dredging, for financial reasons, but the alewifes need to be controlled.  i have e-mailed the fish commission before and they finally admitted to stocking (some?) but they don't think they are a factor as not many show up in the nets..........hmmmm.

Which is a scary thing...Especially when 100% of the walleyes in the trap net surveys were above the legal size.  I don't think that lower limits or preaching catch and release to people will save the day here anymore.  There's alot of places for a walleye to find cover in Pymie, but not spawn, as mentioned before...  It's a tough situation when you think about the F & BC position, and working with Ohio obviously complicates it.  The only thing a fisherman can hope for that we're on the low side of a cycle.

I am not sure I buy the nets thing either...

Ever see all the huge old ones wash up on shore in mid spring?  There is NO shortage of them.
