alewife question, pymatuning

was up at pymatuning tonight and did not see one wader so i never put mine on.  heard of very little walleye action this spring, due partly to the weather and also to the fewer number of eyes in the lake.  my question:  has the pa fish commission ever acknoledged that alewifes were introduced into the lake?  it's sad, but the places i went to tonight used to have a lot of fishermen working the points.  been this way for three weeks.  although i do not hunt deer in pa, a lot of my friends do, and the alewife folly sounds like the ault experiment with deer.  no eyes/no deer.
