UV Lights vs Epoxy

Has anyone tried this system HC.L.A.- Tuffleye Kit uses a U V light to cure the acrylic.
Does it make a nice finish?

Do yourself a favor and buy UV wader repair. Its the exact same stuff, not as expensive and then you can also carry it for emergency leaks. Not only that, you can coat leader knots so they are smoother through the guides.

I've used the loon uv wader repair. I dont have the uv light. But it dries very quick just in the sunlight. I could see it being used for flytying as well.

Loon sunset uv patch. The stuff does come in handy. Except for the leader knot coating where it peeled off after a short time. Slow setting super glue worked better.
Did a great job on a pair of waders. I was back fihsing in 10 minutes.
Last time I went camping, I patched my daughters tent in the rain with the UV light.
Fixed a shredded end on a shoe lace for my wading boots.
Also repaired a fly on stream when the finishing knot got cut.
I haven't tried it yet for epoxied flies.

Its starting to sound like the duct tape of fly fishing.

I have fixed the neoprene stocking foot of my waders while they were still wet. In about 10 minutes I was fishing again with no leak. It does seem well worth the 10 bucks.

I'm using this high gloss head cement from Orvis on my clousers, coating of course the eye and knot. I'm also coating the two ends of the lead eye because I'm using decal eyes (which the lead eyes I purchased are not straight on the ends, so the decals are a pain, which is why I coat around it, too). It gives a nice, glossy finish, but the downside is that it seemingly takes forever to dry. My question is, would this UV hardener be a more reasonable subsitute for glossy/plain head cements and what is the finish like?

I actually asked about the Loon UV Knot Sense at the fly shop today, but they didn't have it so I opted for the high gloss cement.

I've had pretty good luck with Gorilla Glue.  It does bubble if you use too much, but does a pretty good job.  Just like epoxy, you get the crap on your finger tips, which sucks.  This UV thing sounds like it could just some mess?

    It's a glossy finish.

And yes, if you use the little UV light, it literally hardens in seconds, no matter how thick you apply it.  Amazing stuff.

It's not all that easy to find.  And the little key-chain size UV light really hardens that stuff up fast.

    OK
I received my Tuffleye Kit and tried it on a couple of clouser style streamers and I LIKE IT so far easy to use and not messy seems to set up hard and it doesn't take long to set.
