Laurel Hill Creek

In case anyone is interested, as of right now, Laurel Hill Creek is high but fishable.  There is color to the water, but it is not chocolate milk.  Jones Mill Run is high but clear.  Beyond the lake, there is a lot of water below the dam and the newer spillway (with the bridge across it) is about as full as it can get.  BTW, there are fish in the new spillway, if you fish there, dont overlook that.  They got at least some of this last storm in the form of snow-there was about two slushy inches on the ground-so maybe the creeks didn't get blown out up there.

According to the weather, things are supposed to be better by then with highs in the 50s on friday and saturday and in the 60s on sunday, with sun all three days.  I probably wont be fishing there until saturday, which means I wouldn't post until saturday night, at the earliest, so that may not help you.

I don't think we got any snow up here tuesday but monday we did. Its about all gone now.

Once i got down to jones mill yesterday there was no snow. I guess we were just lucky here. My brother in law in ursina said they got no snow either.

There was about 2 inches of slushy snow on the ground tuesday...But the precipitation was a fine rain.  Probably be all cleared up by the weekend.

I drove over it again today at bakersville and in my opinion it is at least as ligh and probably a little more color to it than on tuesday.

It is by no means unfishable color wise but i'd think it would be hard wading. There is still snow at the top on each side of the mountain and all the feeder creeks are running high.

I think if you want to fish for stocked trout it might be a good weekend to hit the lakes.

Laurel Hill was great today.  The water was lower than tuesday, but there was still good flow.  The water in the newer spillway is about 6-8 inches lower than it was previously.  They stocked the lake right at the boat launch, as such, it was packed.  Naturally, people fishing there were catching them right and left.  Jones Mill Run was real clear.  Since it was sunny and about 70 degrees (and saturday) there were people fishing everywhere.  Tomorrow looks like more of the same.
