The MacCoupler makes a welcome addition to any camping gear, RV enthusiast, outdoorsmen, or home owner that needs to use a 1 lb.
propane tank but doesn't want to spend all that money replacing them.  Now you can safely, easily refill those tanks with the
MacCoupler. It is impossible to overfill the smaller bottle, no need to worry. Simply attach the MacCoupler to your 20
lb. tank, then attach the 1 lb. tank you want to refill and in less than a minute your tank is filled and ready for use.

    Luke,

You'll be fine!  I have been refilling them for a few years and still have all my fingers.

A good note before refueling is to make sure you clean out the refill orfice. I use silicon spray and a air compressor to blow out the gunk that gets in there. Be sure to check after filling for leakers use water and soap. Every now and then I get leakers. Dont reuse them. If one leaks screw it into a lantern or whatever you use them on. Remember to toss than one out when its empty.

Put the small bottles in the freezer first. They seem to get fuller that way. Also, turn the 20#'er upside down.

As a non gas expert, what is the risk of overfilling/rupture/all hell breaking loose?

Pressure in the small tank can not excede pressure in the large tank.

I also got my connector to refill smaller cylinders from my 20Lber from Harbour Freight. Been doing that the last 2 years. I user the smaller bottles for 2 latterns I have for night fishing and camping.
