Well, back to semi-serious stuff, FJB and his admins/NOAAs new proposal to put speed limits of 10 knots on all vessels on the east coast between 35 and 65 ft. out to possibly 100 miles.
The idiocy of this admin. and the wackos it has hired is beyond astounding.

Well, eyes. There goes your 8 hour offshore fishin' charter. 4 hours out to the wreck or rig, and 4 hours back. Travel time leaves no time to fish! That should help put about 1 million charter captains around the US out of business. And geeze! Just look at how green that would be to get rid of all those fossil fuel burning boats. Another great idea from the administration and Joey the Dunce!

No way this whale speed limit crap will last for smaller crafts. Way too much hit to way too many local economies as well as hitting way too many elites that control both parties... It is the same crap is those nesting birds at and turtle nests. Environazis spend $Bs to shut stuff down all sorts of stuff so they can whack off to animal butts. It works in some areas, other areas where the economic impact is too much, somehow the rules are completely different. Hatteras island, they can shut down miles, anywhere near shipping and maybe a sign or two. NOAA and NPS will publicly bow to the Evironazis in the procedural process. They have public review, environmental and economic impact studies. Like any other that the economic impact study far outweighs the environmental, it will be overruled and the environazis will lose. Do you think Biden and any of the east coast senators or congressmen that likely own yachts over 35’ would allow this? They will probably publicly support the saving of 4 wales over a 2.5 year length, from 4 million trips of boats of the size, but it is for the far left wacko vote. If Biden were to publicly support this ban, I’ll supply the cocoa butter for your next spa day.

Dardys, This has been a rule for the big ships for a while now. It is only in select areas at select times following the migration of right wales. I don’t think it really hits the biggest cruise routes, at least current restrictions or would likely have heard of it before this. I’m sure it is mostly an issue to cargo ships currently. The proposed changes likely put the cruise ship industry into the mix of economic impact in engaging the impacted zones which will just add to it never being passed. Far too much money in the cruise industry for it to be shut down by 4 wales being killed by propellers. Pray tell? What is inaccurate? Oh...oh, the proposal also states they need ways to track vessels' speed to increase enforcement so yeah, they want to add AIS to those vessels....who pays for that? Yeah, $crew the feds and $crew the whales. Too late for their recovery. We crushed them when we killed them on purpose. If the can't make it now, add them too the list of animals we are wiping off the planet. We will soon be next so it doesn't really matter much.

Pretty much a pyramid scheme, which seems to be what 99% or SPACs or crypto currency ended up being. If you time it right, you can make a killing. Time it wrong and you end up paying entirely too much for what amounts to worthless images. Eerily similar to what happened to the stock market that caused the Great Depression. History books will definitely be recording some of these current schemes as part of our current economic crisis. And dear king President has no issue adding gas to the fire.

Who are they? Can you name them? I've reread the thread twice and I'm not seein' it. I think this was stirred up and originated up in New England where the whale rights activists even want to shut down the lobster fishing industry, but they didn't seem to have any evidence of a lobster boat killing a right whale. Maybe something happened like a whale getting caught up in a lobster trap tether. You do know that whales are NOT fish, don't you? They're mammals, so maybe go over to PITA's web sight and counter sling a little mud over there. They need it!
