SR 4/ - 9

Didn't fish today as we got a late start.
Looks like I won't be fishing the main river all trip as it's going to 4,500 at midnight.

I'll check out sandy and a few other tribs but my expectations just went down to less than 1. Serves me right for getting all jacked up when the water was 750.
Gonna meet up with Andrew for dinner and hopefully get him to come back to striper fishing.
At least wife and sis will have fun sitting in a hotel. I'll be stir crazy and wishing I was working in a pig pen.

Actually, my expectations went up 100%.
Searched some tribs and found some fish. 0-1 in the 2 hr am adventure. Gold/black original floating rapala. It jumped and threw the hook.
Wife is at spa and me and nichole are chilling.
Heading back out at 2pm for afternoon shift.

Afternoon. Fish in front of me , none would bite. All in spawning mode. Tomorrow is another day on tribs.
Absolutely no clue why SR is flood gates open.
Rain wasn't tremendous today, small creeks and tribs flows are normal to below for April.
    Having fun regardless

used to evening fish at selkirk this time of year with floating orange baits a couple of feet above a slip sinker thrown out as far as possible from the beach between grindstone and the concrete dock. Some evenings were pretty darned good.

Fishing adventure over. Ended at UFZ. There are a few spots you can fish in flood stage. No luck.
I'm glad we came and fishing is just that.
Meeting up with Andrew and his girl later. I'm sure there will be late night stories

So my high water excursion took me first to south sandy. Spent more time than should have without success. Next stop was north sandy. Definitely the best water I fished on Thursday. It blew out Friday.
Back for lunch break then back to NS until 6pm.
Friday awoke and went to the north filled with raging chocolate milk. No go..
Back to port Ontario and a stop at woody's for Cleo spoons. A guy was getting fat heads for crappie at Mexico point. Shoulda done the same. Anyway, selkirk shores and grindstone. 2 guys were fishing the peir. They were persistent but didn't see any fish. Grindstone was ripping very nice and the lake was flat. Trollers were just out of my cast by maybe 40 yards. They hooked fish, I did not.
Off to Orwell. It was high but clear. Not my favorite type fishing with a long pole.
Scoped out paradise pool in ufz. A spot at the head and past the tail out were fishable.
    No strikes, hits or runs.
Finished trip at ufz church pool.
    1 on , 1 off.
Only seen 2 fishermen one day in my spots the entire trip .
    Same time next year...
