Braid to Mono?

Hate to bother you with what is probably a simple question but what kind of knot do you use to splice a piece of floro or mono onto a braid? I use a polymar when live baiting to attach braid to swivel but when throwing something like a stickbait was just wandering what the best knot to use would be, am familar with the surgeon and blood knots but have tried the surgeon and it slips, while on the subject any preferances between fireline and stren superbraid? Thanks

For superline on my spinning rods I use spiderwire. I have not used any other braids but I have used fireline. I really do not like fireline. Id rather use mono than fireline. I have used an albright knot before and it didnt slip, didnt exactly catch jaws though if you know what I mean.

USE A J-KNOT!  AS TO BRAID OR MONO. DEPENDS ON TOO MANY FACTORS. WHAT APPLICATION ARE YOU GOING TO USE IT FOR?

Mostly gonna use it for a leader(clear) for smallies in rivers and for eyes , have a buddy who just ties on to the bright fireline and he does catch fish, must be from my flyfishing background but I have a phobia about fish being leader shy, see Stange all the time on In-Fisherman throwing swimbaits and Xraps with flouro on the end of his fireline, and was wondering what type of knot wouldn't slip with the fireline. Thanks again now I gotta figure out a J-knot.

Alot of the line manufacturers have knot recommendations for different kinds of line on their websites.  You might want to check some of them out.

DON'T FORGET TO WET YOUR KNOTS PRIOR TO SNUGGING THEM UP. YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER PURCHASE OF A BRASS KNOT TYER FROM CABELA'S, ORVIS, ETC. AND LEARN THE VARIOUS KNOTS LISTED. iT'S SAVED MY BACON (MANY FISH) NUMEROUS TIMES!
