Any idea what happened to....

...this poor critter? Caught it off nine mile plant about 8-9 years ago. It was just under 23 inches.

Both eyes were bulged out like a flying squirrel, it's tail end was rippled up and down, jaws seemed to be under developed. Had 5 Lamprey marks on it.

I lost the negative to make copies so I took a picture of the picture with my Cannon digital camera set on macro lens. That's how the white glare on the picture came about.

Heard many thoughts  through the years on how this critter came to be: genetics, HIT BY LIGHTENING!, the nuke plant is leaking, and my favorite: how to keep a slot laker---compress it under 25 inches!

    Looks pretty beat up and mutilated but still had the wild will to live on and survive. The call of the wild!

    Almost looks like the Lampreys sucked it's **** out. That's another though of what happened to it. OTH

    Maybe it had a piece of discarded monofilament line wrapped around it's tail for quite awhile?

    changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes....nothing remains quite the same

    there were no cuts at all on it. the spine was bent up and down.
    i took it to 2 taxidermists and wanted it mounted. should of seen their faces...WTF? both said it was "too soft" to do it. i don't think they could get a mold to do it with.
