FishinGuy "pretty quiet about fishing" - Pretty quiet about fishing because you highjacked another thread with your constant drivel. Just stop man.
....... says the guy who trolls the boards for "spotburns". Wassa matter can't find any easy fish to catch? Maybe you could stop you're whining and instead, contribute some of your great adventures.... eh?
I had come back to this thread to post a report. Then find it had turned into, well, this. So I didn't post the report and expressed my opinion instead. Just stop man. It's way too much. Please just stop. You're (<see what I did there?) ruining the entire forum.
Next time, stay with your report. Your opinion makes it easy to see your soul intent was to badger me. Folks on these boards are good people and most likely to share a few spotburns with you if you weren't such a whiner. Thanks for pointing out the misspelled word. 👍 Not my first time and not my last time. Dang, I had you figured wrong, I thought you could insult better than that. Stop wasting time here, I hear there's some great spotburning on Facebook & Twitter.

Jay sorry to hear you're disappointed with the boards.
As for me, if a guy wants to talk fishing that's OK with me. If a guy wants to come on a board to badger me, that's OK too.
I'm happy to carry on a conversation with anybody. Be it fishing or trolling however in my case, ”catching” is not an option.
Good times and tight lines.

The walleye seem to be more active in the river lately, my buddy and I caught a few near pool three Saturday evening.

This coming couple weeks looks bad. Mostly up to 15 with 1 to 3s the as far as I can see. I sure hope she settles. I'd like to get back up a few more times. Maybe even start trolling that sub 10ft for trouts..
Any prognosis or opinions from the Big Lake Pros? FL2?

The walleye are still pretty deep at my lake house in Erie, but I managed to land one on a crawler harness attached to a dipsy diver.

I’ve been fishing Keystone reservoir for a few months now. But lately with the water level so low the north park of the lake has had a great largemouth bite. It’s super shallow 3-6ft with tons of weeds and grass. So pitching, flipping and early top water have been productive.
Also caught a couple nice musky up there last weekend. 36” and 41”. They both hit buzzbaits in the shallows so I suspect they’re chasing the smaller bass and panfish.

Sorry I've been off for a while... just did a look ahead and it is going to be some churned up water for the foreseeable future, it will make a miserable ride for smaller boats but if the wind has been consistent from one direction rather than having done a wild swing it will still have trollable days. Fish tend to hang around till a major temp change, usually a big blow in really late September , 1st week of October. The steelhead bite will definitely pick up and if wind doesnt allow trench fishing going shallow is going to be a real option for both resident walleye and staging steel, with some fun brown trout mixed in.

If you are referring to keystone power plant dam I drive by there frequently and have fished it a couple times after getting off shift in Plumville. Top end looks great for bass and musky hunting now. Havent gone down into launches to see how they are looking though.

My buddy and I took the boat out to pool three Saturday morning, we caught 3 Smallmouth, 1 tiny walleye, and on the way to the launch while trolling we doubled up with a tiny Musky and the largest northern pike I have ever caught (+35 inches).

Was out on Pool 4 of the Allegheny yesterday evening, mostly just for kicker motor operation and testing. 1 smallmouth and 1 channel cat. Not a single hit in any of the honey holes. It's been tough this year.

So, in close is OVER. We fished outta Shades, all over out to 60s, not one mark. Packed up and went to Walnut. Same deal, out to 50s, same barren wasteland. I had a good first season as I've said before. With only a 20hp, I really can't get out to 70+ without chancing something going wrong. Whether it be the lake kicking up , a break down or what have you. Guess I have a question. Should I dump $6500 on a 40, then I'll havta get a small kicker also.. I'm weighing the options. Seems like a big expense for an extra month of fishing up there. Then I'd havta take it off when its time for the local fishing I do. Im gonna havta live with the brutal beating we got yesterday until next season. Live and learn, I guess. Oh well, lemmie know what yinz think. Thanks

No real advice on the 40, but enjoyed reading your initial season on the big lake.
If spending that much on a 40, maybe consider a second boat that not only has the higher HP, but more size if things stir up? Might have to pay more, but resale would be easier for a full package, at least I’d imagine. You could always put a kicker on to put around on the inland lakes. If still planning to use a good bit on the HP restricted lakes, your current set up is hard to beat though. Puttering around stinks after spending time on boats that get on plane, but still get you there.
I’m great at spending others money!!!

Bigger boats are bigger headaches. We watch guys struggle at the ramps, take an hour putting things away. Its really not what I'm looking to do. I would consider an 18Ftr, in another Lund but your talking major ching for a '21. Put a 70 or so on it and keep my 20 for kicker. But.... I dunno. Maybe after the girls get thru college. 3kids x 4 years tuition = 41ftr with all the trimming. Lmao.
Btw. Home lake is on the turn. Jus say'IN.

I think you have less of a dilemma than you may think then! The home lake(s) usually fish very well in certain seasons, then pretty much dead when you want to be on the big lake anyway. If you don't take any unnecessary risks (those 3 kids and wife are worth a heck of a lot more than any walleye). You have the tools to get things done as is, when you are smart about it. Not sure if you convince the girls to head to Erie as much as you can local. That is definitely a good thing that you don't want to screw up. Like you said about college or whatever they do at that age, you'll most likely have more alone time then to get that bigger boat.

Thanks guys, Artificial baits were the way to go, to bad I was the one using live bait Overall a slow day with a steady wind until we packed it in. The foliage is something else and should peak soon. Can't believe I've only fished there a handful ov times the past 3 years. I was sorta lost with all the surrounding camo, over grown grasses and flocks ov Geese in crazy formations. Gonna bring back a pound ov minnies from Pymy next week for a supply on hand. Tim's boat ran good. He said it was a fish commission boat used for trap nets. Coulda used one today. crappy

I sure didn't want to be on the big lake today. 20 to 25 mph winds with possible gust to 40.
Dadburn wind still at 14 mph gusting into the mid 20s muupere.
