Dog days of summer

So went for a mechanical shake down run...first trip of the year because of my work schedule.  We had installed new risers and manifolds over the winter so were wanting to make sure all was well before starting to fish for the season.
Took the dogs with us, they love going and are fun to have along when we don't have many other passengers.
Got a couple of pics of them and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of others on here who also get their canine copilots out when they can, so please show us your pups enjoying their summer activities with you.
Mindy (sable one) and Dillon...

I will probably be adding more snaps as the summer goes on...hopefully some of you will also!

Good thread and good on ya Fisherlady for getting those pooches out for a boat ride. Looks like they enjoyed it. Here's the most recent pick I have of my first mate. She can honestly be kind of a pain in the butt when I'm catching fish, but love having Nina along. I find it comical most times that she can be dead asleep in the deck of the boat, but as soon as I pick a rod up to set the hook she springs up just waiting for her chance to lick some of the slime off the fish.

@crappie_slayer.. Nina looks like a great companion for your fishing trips! Please feel free to add your favorite photos of her. I think we aren't the only animal folks on here and I enjoy seeing the pictures and hearing the stories of other folks' canine companions!

    Thanks BTDT ๐Ÿ™‚
Mechanics all worked out well... fishing not so much. Was mid day and no breeze, so actually not the best fishing weather for the lake. We jigged a bit but to quote someone else on the boards.... stupid fish! LOL
But the important thing was we got out, and things finally felt just a bit more normal!

Well Memorial day was a boating day, yesterday was a 'farm day' and the pups headed with me and the John Deere backhoe to fix a major drainage problem at the barn property.  They were good companions, snoopervisors and a bit of comic relief for a long day.

Judging from the last pic it looks like bath time for the pooch was the job that followed the digging. Great pics. Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ‘

Yep, both got baths when we got home. They weren't too thrilled with that part of their day.

It is a dogโ€™s job to get muddy.

Can't be any worse than having your Beagle roll in a pile of vile, disgusting somthingorother after a small game hunt, knowin' she's gotta ride in the cab of the truck for the hour long ride home.

Muddy - yea - unless there is poop around then its their job to roll in it  and rub up against your leg.

And that is why my SUV has the back seat folded down with a 5x8 entry carpet laid down on it, then an old blanket... blanket gets pulled when needed and carpet usually pulled and scrubbed 2 or 3 times a year. I dont mind the dogs being dogs. I took them to keep me company and was amused at their antics. Good times are worth some mud.
