NO Fauci is the one who predicts our 19 future based on facts surrounding the disease here and elsewhere- he is now talking about variants that will eventually come here from other countries and the possibilities of their affecting Americans- therefore I think its more than just a little noteworthy he has yet to mention the southern invasion of positive tested people being spread around the country.
Not to mention the fact that its highly doubtful that those folks rushing in have  had the opportunity for the many  disease inoculations that are generally mandated here in the US. Everyone is mum on that too,
Hey I am NOT anti immigrant -we are all children of immigrants -just anti invading our border by the hundreds of thousands w/o any proper normal process.

Recall the night of the big Rep announcement for VP--McCain came out and announced Palin after which she gave a speech.
After a few minutes of her speech I turned the channel and turned to my wife and said 'well, they just lost'.

Sad to see cases going back up in our area.  Looks like Pitt is getting hit pretty hard.  Fingers crossed with many being younger they can stay out of the hospital and avoid complications from it.

CDC came out the other day and said all of us with the shots could travel about and get back to normal- next day they changed their minds.
Politics or science ???
Some say politics and control of the people and others say science-I dont know or care  anymore but the hermit life is OVER IMHO.
Will still wear the mask to make people in stores and places happy but thats about all.

When wife and I got our shots they gave us cards with the shot type- and date and signature of the shot giver- we plastic coated and kept them.
Now they are talking about some idiotic national papers for state to state movement or commercial travel--next will be book burnings and telling neighbors to turn in neighbors---

In my local area here (Airport) you wouldn't even know there was a virus any longer. For couple months now its been business as usual people are wearing masks but everything is open and crowded the local schools have been in session except for 1 day virtual. The airport parking lots are packed again as it used to be,most of the pubs and eateries are as well. Its almost normal whatever that is anymore!

Govt control or reliable science ????
Even the CDC is flip flopping- or changing its mind due to political pressure???

Gotta get the power shifted. The restrictions are only going to help the cause. The massive trillions of dollars budgets is how this gets done. Shift the $$$ you shift the power.

I readily said Biden won the election and gave him time before spouting off about things he is doing.
Felt that even if i didnt like it all, it came with him having won- so be it.

Well, thats over- he is doing just what Schumer so gleefully said- "we will fundamentally change America"-
That sounded at the time, IMO, to make this a different Nation than the one I enjoy and thats exactly what Biden and co. are clearly and rapidly up to.

A far as I'm concerned that aint in the picture and I will fight it all the way.

You've been talking about "required papers" for months now. Be it traveling between states, or whatever.
Than when ya get one for the vaccine, you are sure to laminate or plastic coat it? You'd think you'd just throw it away?

I'm glad you got the vaccine full doses. Go enjoy time with your family or fishing or whatever it is you do for fun! Congrats!

Same here re: the sereology study.  I guess you need to give blood if you want to find out at this point, for free and, it has been so long since I thought I had it (over a year now), it may not show anything anyways.

Was up at the inlaws this weekend for Easter and had the kids fishing in their pond (lots of bass, gills and crappie on minnies) and rode the quads around a bunch but, Cambria county, I was the outlier wearing a mask in the stores and the bait shop, that is for sure.  Most everyone going about business as usual at this point.

Keeping an immunization receipt is a lot different than Govt or Pvt industry saying you MUST have a specific form they envision.
Heck I kept my kids records when they had their shots as children-
My oldest will be 50 in a week or two- went through some old boxes this winter while hibernating and came across his shot records LOL.

Like another world eh? I just bought a car in Greene County a few weeks ago, went into the Sheetz and it was like watching a TV show. Employees masked up, but that was it. The looks we got were hilarious. Granted that day Greene county had under 10 total cases, but, wowza.

actually, I agree with them at this point...open it back up....but, I didn't know what the stores were going to be like so I had a mask on....
And to be perfectly honest, I did see a sign posted at the bait store when leaving, "Please wear a mask if you feel comfortable doing so" or something to that effect.  For counties with much smaller populations and WAY less cases, it makes sense.  Wear it if you want but you won't get kicked out if you don't.  My feelings it should have been this was from the start.

Most places  around here say no mask no service.
Too bad they dont say masks requested for those without the shots- might be more appropriate.

I get  their thought process though with all the different rules and changes for the past year or more.
Deciding to be safe first I guess.
If ya listen to Faucie ya might  be wearing a deep sea brass head cover and rubber suit while sitting in the house with the doors nailed shut and windows locked down.

I'd expect mask policies in populated areas until fully vaccinated rates hit 70% of the population (2 weeks after both shots).  Which is probably pretty close to Memorial Day.  Oh well, as long as the last remaining stuff is opening, which it is.  Not that most things weren't already open for the past year anyway.  The man trying to keep me down by asking me to wear a mask and not be in large groups inside.  Massive mind control conspiracy, I can't drink my Arhn at the bar n'at.

Vaccine card = idiotic national papers.

Went to the PBA bar once a week for one or even two  for years- Now its been mandated closed for over a year-things aint right yet IMO.
Hope your  right bout that 70% back to some normalcy prediction.
Not holding my breath for the govt to do that though- something requiring more control of the population will come up .
Hope to be proven wrong---

I have no qualms with places being open. If the area you're in isn't spiking like wild, by all means.
As always, Social Distancing and Mask Adherence is just such an easy thing to do though. Not doing so is just being a tough guy/dbag in my book.

My mom had it pretty bad a few months ago, as did my father. Father actually got the REGEN-COV2 treatment as he is high risk, and it worked fantastic for him.
Mom has an appointment soon for a Pulmonary (Might be the wrong word, whatever specialty is respiratory system) Specialist to check for permanent lung damage. Any staircase above 10 or so stairs is still a struggle. It's been 2.5 months since her initial diagnoses.

That is a bummer to hear about your Mom.  One of my son's buddy's dad has similar.  Only in his 40s too.

Back in the fall, I had agreed with some on here to have certain things be completely open "at your own risk", but other things that were necessities would need to be "mask mandatory".  Which seems to be what many areas have done regardless at least of what I have noticed (although not fully open, but open enough to handle the crowds that showed).  Besides walking around in a restaurant/bar, anyone seated has their mask off.  At grocery, hardware and other stores, people are wearing masks.  Outdoors, it seems to be mixed.  In congested areas like downtown, masks are worn like it is indoors.  In parks and other outdoor areas with some room to keep distance from strangers, I rarely see any worn.  Youth sports have been requiring, but the kids wear them as chin diapers or have the high flow sports masks that do nothing protection wise, while playing, but seem to have no issues wearing while on the bench not playing.  Personally, why even require them to wear while playing if not really being worn?  Parents don't seem to have much issue wearing to watch their kids.  When it is cold out, they are actually kind of nice (if not wearing glasses).  As it gets warmer, the more people vaccinated, hopefully the more the youth sports programs lift their mask mandates.

Re: Coronavirus opinions 2021/04/06 12:16:44 (permalink)
PA spent all that time to develop a new roll out, to be scrapped within a few days!  Ha, ha.

I kind of feel for the grocery workers and other "essential workers" having to work in the public masses during that March-April unknown time and not getting the simple reward of being pushed ahead of others in this rollout.  I have a feeling most of them figured out a way to be in Phase 1A anyway.  If you look at the medical considerations the CDC posts, just about every adult fits within one of them...  "Smoker or ex-smoker", how many adults really have never tried a cigarette or cigar before? = "ex-smoker".  Excessive drinking, according to health officials, if you drink more than 2 servings in one sitting, it is excessive.  I'd think most that have had a drink before, have at least one time (or 2-3 times per week) have fit that definition...  CDC even lists BMI over 25 as a concern = according to the CDC, that is 74% of US adults.

I am pretty sure that any elderly person that wants to be vaccinated and all front line medical personnel has had the opportunity to get it and probably through their second shot by now.  Open it up to all at this point.  Should have only had frontline workers, elderly and those with severe medical issues in 1A to begin with.

He pushed up the date of being “eligible,” not to be vaccinated because since distribution falls to the states and not the federal government, that is all he can do.

Kind of like giving everyone the eligibility for three wishes, but without Aladdin’s buy-in.

I do get my first next week though.

^ Here's a decent writeup from the CDC page on it. While your specific question isn't listed, there's a section about FAQ and more info at the bottom you could explore.

Hey Bloody- I recall you and I about a year back both believing we had already experienced the virus- way before the tests and other info was available.
When shots became available i readily took advantage and got them despite that earlier experience- actually as I recall neither of us had any testing later proving that we actually did have it but our symptoms and the timing was spot on for early 19.
Kinda figured that after over a year it would be a good idea to have the shots as a booster if nothing else. Certainly couldnt hurt.
No bad reactions or other symptoms from it.

It's not so much about the side effects from the vaccine, although there is still some concern there for me. But it's more about our own natural defenses against the virus. Would the vaccine take from our natural antibodies and our body's become dependent on the shot to fight the virus? I think i'm going to wait until after summer to make up my mind.

Suggest a test for antibodies will make the choice both easier and more informed if ya think its necessary.
