Trolling Motors

I am looking to purchase a new trolling motor for my fisher Avenger Deep-V 17',6
I fish a lot with kids so I am really looking for the I-Pilot or spot lock for the anchor feature I can't tell you how many times I get blown off of fish due to poor anchor sets or drift to the bank when working on pools getting fish off ect. (Yes bad)

Looking for opinions sure this will be a chevy vs ford debate but I drive a RAM.

MinnKota PowerDrive 70lbs 24v
MinnKota Terrova 80lbs 24v
Motorguide 80Lbs 24V

Also looking at 55lbs options but this boat is heavy and is like a kite on the lakes.  I am replacing the original motorguide 45lbs 12v system  It finally died (Playing taps) was a great little motor.

I'd go Big on the thrust, especially if you plan to run spot lock on the I-Pilot. It can get breezy out there and be difficult for the I-Pilot to keep the bow pointed in the right direction.

Terrova all the way...powerdrive cannot have the a foot pedal if it is ipilot, one or the other(powerdrive ipilot doesn't come with foot pedal) Terrova has both plus lift assist is must...not on powerdrive

the Ipilot is the best thing to ever happen to trolling motors, once you use it you will wonder how you fished without it.  I have the 70# powerdrive, but would probably get the Terrova for ease of the deploy and lift.  Plus if the remote dies or falls in you can still use the foot pedal.

I suggest you to buy Terrova, I personally use this motor and really its quite good, I bought it about 6 to 7 months ago from Reecoupons, and its really worth buying for me. If you wanna buy in future once check there.

Assuming optimum riding circumstances, the use of the best fuel i.e. the distillate marine diesel, and moderate load, 55-pound trolling motors are likely to accomplish a maximum speed of only 5 miles per hour. This would take roughly two hours for the deep cycle battery charge to get entirely discharged.

Go with the Terrova, unless money is a factor and then go with a PowerDrive and add a Copilot remote.

Our society stigmatizes the mentally ill... and rightfully so, these people are nuts!
