Thanks folks. It's been a fun ride this season . We got 1 for the grill tonight. Taking the afternoon to recharge and wait for the tide to go in our direction

I saw this pic from one of my favorite surf shops HT, and thought how you'd love  to do this.  It's from the Parker River,  Newbury, Ma.  1964. I'll be going to look for similar chasing the herring way up stream this weekend. I've heard of ice stripers in Maine, but this is new. The fellow with the striper just caught a cow at the mouth of the Merrimack at age 90. He's a legend.

That's a pretty sweet picture fichy. I'd dig it. Ice on the salt ?
My season sadly ended in despair Monday.
Seems shifting cable broken and I got no time, nor does the marina to repair in short time. I'll try and retrieve it from the dock this weekend.
I hope your season is fantastic !

Thanks, HT. So sorry to hear about the boat. Oh well, you'll be itching for big trout on the Ausable soon.  Yes, the Parker is a freshwater tidal river that can freeze in real cold spells. I have a general idea where the pic is taken- about 4 miles or so in from open ocean.

Sucks about the boat HT. They always seem to have something go just at the most inopportune time.
