FOB Vanes

I was reading a thread about these revolutionary new "vanes" which are actually a ring foil that is placed on the arrow just in front of the nock instead of using conventional vanes.  I haven't tried them yet but plan on giving them a try this summer.  You have to use a fall away arrow rest when using them but the folks on the archerytalk.com board that have used them all seemed to think they stabilized the arrow much better.  There was some discussion about their use in 3D tournaments as the ring foil is much more obtrusive than vanes for those that have to shoot after the ring foil arrow is in the target.  Anyone out there tried them?

I dont think I would try them. I see they weigh around 25 grains. This seems like a lot more weight than feathers or vanes. I am wondering what all that weight would do to your arrow flight.

I've shot both blazer vanes and quickspins over the past couple years, they both seem to do a good job of keeping you arrows stable in flight.
