Perch Bite?

Anyone know where the perch are?  Tried the bay with little success. tiny tiny.
 
drifted around in the lake off the point about 40fow and didn't mark anything.
 
I know I'm late, but cmon!

    You miss a tremendous perch bite in the bay. February through April 3 we crushed them. Two,three man tickets every time,fish where huge, a ton of 12"-15.5" fish. My PB was 2 lbs 9 oz.

    Doesn't seem like there's enough Shiners in the lake this year for all the predators. Just read on the reports page they're finding lots of gobies in perch stomachs, and lake trout are scattered much more than usual (high wind speeds aren't helping that either). Wonder what's going on with the forage base out there?

    Something isn't right. Perch pirate posted a report today saying the dumping grounds were producing. I'll go out Friday and give it a shot. Getting ready to give up on perch and learn walleye fishing.    Last year was bad, hopefully this year is much better.

    This year is forcasted to be as bad as last year.

    Good luck, let us know what you find out there. I'll be offshore looking for Char for the next few days so I'm hoping to finally find some bait balls, not expecting much, though...

    If this year is anything like last year just be flexible and try different techniques. Last year we sat on nice schools of fish but they were moving through fast and it was frustrating to only pick up a couple of fish when the sonar was loaded. We picked away at them and had plenty to show for our effort in the end.

    Didn't get too much time to go out, only went for a few hours.  Couldn't mark a school.  Picked up two sheephead's and a silver bass.  Will try again tomorrow with more time and more people.

    We found a handful of bait balls Saturday from the dumping grounds to the NY line but very few active fish. A single 24" Walleye was all in four hours. Couldn't find Lakers in 100-120 FOW so my guess is they're out in 140+ or just being choosy eaters. No White Bass or Drum all day either, strange, was hoping for a few goats but it's still early yet I suppose. I'll be back to do some more searching in a few weeks once this annual despised transition period of mayflies, cottonwood seeds, and being in between seasonal fisheries passes. Summer Steel, Greys, and Drum are right around the corner! Just hoping that, most importantly, the shiners and smelt make a big dramatic entrance here soon. Good thing the gobies are there as a backup food source for those fish.

    Perch aren't biting? Time for the fishermen to bite. I just enjoy a pack of frozen fillets from March 20 th. I couldn't believe the size of the fillets 10"-11" fillets and 1/2" thick. Those where all 14-15.5" fish. I wish I would have fished more in February and March.

    Has anyone heard reports towards Ohio at all for the perch bite. Seemed last year you had to be west of Walnut to get any perch.
